Well, it's hard to feel 100% when it comes to your health, and you may be left to wonder why you're feeling a certain way that women often can overlook you know their health while taking care of everybody else in their family. And we're lucky enough to have Access Medical Labs, a specialty diagnostic lab right here in our backyard.

And we are joined by the company's CEO, Adam El-Hosseiny and Diane McLauchlan. A success story here. Thank you so much for joining us. Our pleasure. Thank you for having me. So first off, let's talk about some of the tests that you recommend, especially for women in their 40s.
Adam El-Hosseiny
Absolutely. So that there's a lot of tests that we offer. But if I had to choose a top three, I would go with our comprehensive female hormone panel. I would go with our Allergy Plus, which is environmental and food allergies. And I would go with our food Analyzer, which is testing for 286 food sensitivities.
CBS Anchor
It's really interesting, right? Because most people get tested for allergies when they're young and kids. Well, I know what I'm allergic to or what I'm not allergic to. But you're saying once you get older, it's very important.
Adam El-Hosseiny
Absolutely. There's, one out of every four adults actually has a food or environmental allergy, and less than 10% get tested. So this is something that can really be impacting their quality of life.
Me, personally I used to eat an egg and cheese every morning until I found that I was actually allergic to the egg yolk and the egg white. Oh, boy. And that was causing my brain fog. So it could be small symptoms. Just because you're allergic or sensitive doesn't mean you're going to have a full on anaphylaxis episode, right?
There can be smaller symptoms that are impacting your quality of life. And unless we're getting tested, you're just not going to know.
CBS Anchor
Absolutely. And, Diane, I know for you, this is something that is, personal. You have a journey and story of your own. Tell us why you decided to get these specialty tests done.
Diane McLauchlan
So I got this test done because I was gaining an extreme amount of weight. No matter what I was eating, I could not lose the weight. Also, I was struggling with bronchitis every three months. My energy was low. I had no motivation to do anything. So I went and got these tests done.
CBS Anchor
And what can you tell us about what you learned from them? And your experience from it?
Diane McLauchlan
I learned a lot about these tests. I found out that I was actually prone to heart disease. my lungs were failing. I had a fatty liver, and I also had a hormone imbalance and a ton of food sensitivities.
CBS Anchor
You know, when you get older, like, you've been in your body for a long time. You just feel like you know yourself and you think, oh, well, I guess this is just, this is just getting older. Right? But what you're telling us is these are important tests to take because there are things that even if you've lived in your body for decades and you feel like you know yourself, there are things going on that you might not know about.
Adam El-Hosseiny
100%. And I think, you know, when it comes to lab testing and when it comes to health care in general, we don't need to be on the reactive side, reacting to illness, reacting to disease. We need to be proactive. We need to be preventative and we need to be functional. So it's about being ahead of the curve to live an optimal quality of life.
CBS Anchor
Absolutely. And of course, better safe than sorry when it comes to that. You can never be too cautious or careful when getting to the bottom of something like that. So I agree 100% 100%. Is there anything else you'd like people to know?
Adam El-Hosseiny
Yes, I do. Access is one of the largest specialty diagnostic labs in the country, and we're right here in Jupiter, Florida. We service the whole nation, but we're right here in your backyard. So if you're local, make sure you look up Access Medical Labs.
CBS Anchor
All right. Adam, Diane, thank you so much for your time and joining you here for our Florida. Thank you. We'll be right back.
