A new study presented at the American College of Cardiology’s Annual Scientific Session provides additional support to a long-held belief: regular exercise positively impacts heart health.
The research provides additional evidence that exercise improves heart health by activating parts of the brain that counteract stress. Those that engaged in the recommended amount of physical activity per week were 17% less likely to experience major cardiovascular events. Interestingly, these benefits were even more significant for those with anxiety or depression, with a 22% risk reduction.
Our Cardio Panel allows physicians to establish a baseline of their patient’s heart health that goes deeper than cholesterol levels.
