Reported Rise in STD Cases

Despite social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic, there were 2.5 million cases of Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, and Syphilis in 2021. This data includes cases reported by multiple agencies and is considered preliminary.

As STD cases continue on an upward trend, many practitioners are seeing patients prioritize being tested at regular intervals. The current CDC recommendation is to be tested at least once a year.
Several STDs can be addressed with antibiotics, but can cause severe health concerns if left undiagnosed and untreated.

At Access Medical Labs, our STD panel tests for HIV, Syphilis, Herpes Simplex I and II, Gonorrhea, and Chlamydia. Only half the amount of tubes are needed for testing, and results are delivered within 24 hours. Click here to learn more about our STD testing panels.
